ANNA
I AM READY FOR THE FINNISH PARLIAMENT!
In 1983, Kalle Könkkölä was elected as the first disabled Member of Parliament in Finland. Thanks to Könkkölä´s work, Finland became the first Nordic country to have disability
legislation in the late 1980s. After Kalle Könkkölä, no person with a disability has been a member of the Finnish Parliament. I want to change that.
I WANT TO WORK FOR:
Youth Mental Health
Mental illness among young people is very acute and many do not realize how serious the situation is. Proactive and preventive work for mental health is important. The Finnish model for free leisure activities is also important. It starts with meaningful leisure time, where you feel included. This can prevent mental illness later on. Another important act is to work for a Mental health therapy guarantee. A Mental health therapy guarantee means that you should receive free short-term therapy within one month of contacting the health care services. Spending money on mental health is an investment!
Working conditions for caring personnel
It is good that wages are being raised and it is a step in the right direction. But that is not enough. Many carers move from Finland to work in other countries and we need to get better working conditions here. The nursing profession must become more attractive in Finland, and working conditions are crucial. As a member of the Parliament, I hope to be able to influence in a positive direction for caring personnel. I see it as a task of The Parliament to influence to improve working conditions by making laws.
Growth in Ostrobothnia
An active business community and an active Ostrobothnia are close to my heart. Ostrobothnia needs innovation and renewal in order to continue to be a successful region in the future. We need to have better infrastructure, both in terms of roads and a well-functioning train traffic to and from Ostrobothnia, and it will be possible to get by plane smoothly both from Vaasa and Jakobstad-Kronoby. We also need to get people moving in, the companies of the region are crying out for labour. The region needs continuous investments in research and education in companies, schools and universities, as well as the public sector.
Service for people with disabilities
Finland has ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This means that people with disabilities should receive the services and support they need to live a full life in society. In order for this to be realized, it is important for the state to provide sufficient resources to the wellbeing services counties so that the convention is complied with. Finland is about to have new and long-awaited disability legislation hopefully still within this
government term.

I am a person who is fearless and likes to highlight issues that otherwise do not get much visibility in the debate. Together we make the world a better place.”
